Youth Archery for Bradenton, Florida Athletes — The Competitive Team for Manatee County

The Region That Produced IMG Academy Deserves Elite Archery Too.

Bradenton is the home of IMG Academy — the world’s most recognized elite youth sports training facility. The competitive sports culture that produces isn’t an accident. Sarasota Archery Academy, minutes from the Manatee County line, is the competitive archery answer for Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, and Manatee County families who bring that same standard to everything their athlete does.

Quick Answer
Where can my Bradenton or Lakewood Ranch youth athlete take competitive archery?

Sarasota Archery Academy—a 501(c)(3) nonprofit competitive team located at 7524 Castle Dr, Sarasota, FL 34240, just south of the Manatee–Sarasota county line—is the closest tryout-based, state-level competitive archery program for Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, Parrish, and Ellenton families. Drive time from most of Manatee County is 15–25 minutes via I‑75 or SR‑70. SAA fields athletes in both USA Archery (X‑Ring Program, $200/mo) and ASA 3D (Upper 12’s, $300/mo), coached by USA Archery Level 3 NTS-certified instructors.

Bradenton Doesn’t Settle for Recreational. Neither Do We.

Bradenton, Florida is the home of IMG Academy — a 600-acre elite sports training and boarding school that has been producing professional and Olympic athletes since 1978. IMG offers competitive training across 14 sports, and its student-athletes fill approximately 25% of all college freshman athletic roster spots nationally every year. When you live in the city that hosts the world’s most famous sports performance institution, competitive youth athletics isn’t a niche pursuit — it’s a cultural expectation.

That culture radiates through the entire Bradenton and Manatee County area. The Premier Sports Campus in Lakewood Ranch — 23 professional-grade fields — hosts national-level youth soccer championships, drawing elite teams from across the country. Lakewood Ranch FC, Lakewood Ranch Little League, and the Lakewood Ranch Titans have built competitive youth sports organizations that match the area’s expectations. When it comes to youth athletics, Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch families are not interested in participation trophies. They want development, competition, and results.

Archery has not had a program in this market that matches that standard — until now. Sarasota Archery Academy, located just south of the Manatee-Sarasota county line, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit competitive archery team with Level 3 NTS-certified coaching and two programs competing at the Florida state level. It is the only team of this caliber serving Manatee County athletes. The drive from Bradenton is minutes. The program is built exactly for the competitive family culture this region has developed.

This is not a recreational archery club. It is a competitive team — tryout-based, coach-driven, state-level. If your athlete is competitive by nature and ready for the structure that produces real results, this is the program.

The Nation’s #1 Master-Planned Community — And One of Our Strongest Recruiting Markets

Lakewood Ranch has ranked as the nation’s best-selling multigenerational master-planned community for multiple consecutive years. Its population has grown over 83% since the 2020 census — now home to more than 74,000 residents across 55 square miles spanning Sarasota and Manatee counties. The median household income in Lakewood Ranch is $122,925. A staggering 77.9% of all Lakewood Ranch households are families.

Those numbers tell a specific story: Lakewood Ranch is where financially stable, family-oriented households are choosing to raise children — at a rate that puts it among the fastest-growing communities in all of Florida. These families are not moving to LWR for average schools and mediocre youth programs. They are moving here specifically because the infrastructure is excellent — and that includes youth athletics. The Premier Sports Campus alone signals what kind of sports community this is.

Lakewood Ranch is one of our most active feeder communities. The drive from LWR to our Sarasota facility is typically 20–25 minutes via I-75 south or SR-70 west. For a program that offers Level 3 NTS coaching, two state-level competitive programs, and 501(c)(3) nonprofit pricing — that commute is, consistently, one the families find absolutely worth it.

Two Competitive Programs. Open to Bradenton & Manatee County Athletes.

Both programs train twice weekly, compete at the Florida state level, and are coached by certified USA Archery coaches — all of whom volunteer their time.

🎯

X-Ring Program — USA Archery

USA Archery indoor and outdoor target archery, coached through the National Training System (NTS) — the same technical framework used to develop USA Archery’s national and Olympic teams. The indoor season runs November–February at 18 meters on 3-spot target faces. The outdoor season uses the 720-round format at distances that increase with age division. Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch athletes in the X-Ring program train year-round and compete in Florida state indoor and outdoor championships. $200/month.

Upper 12’s Program — ASA 3D

ASA 3D archery — outdoor courses, foam animal targets, unmarked distances, field judgment under competitive pressure. Athletes compete in the Florida ASA circuit, targeting the Florida ASA State Championship in Palatka and accumulating Shooter of the Year rankings across the qualifier season. For Bradenton and Manatee County athletes who want field archery at the competitive level, this is the only structured program in the region. $300/month.

Competitive Archery Near Bradenton, Florida — Common Questions

Our training facility in Sarasota is just south of the Manatee-Sarasota county line — making it one of the shortest commutes of any athlete on our roster for Bradenton families. Most central Bradenton athletes are on-site in 15–20 minutes. Athletes from the University Parkway corridor, near the county line, are even closer. Athletes from northern Bradenton, Parrish, or Ellenton may be 25–30 minutes depending on their specific location. All are well within the range that competitive sports families in this market routinely travel for quality programs.

There is no competitive, tryout-based archery team operating within Bradenton or Manatee County. Despite the extraordinary youth sports infrastructure in the area — IMG Academy, Premier Sports Campus, Lakewood Ranch FC — archery has not had a serious competitive program serving this market. Sarasota Archery Academy, located just south in Sarasota, fills that gap. We are the competitive archery team for Manatee County, actively recruiting and training athletes from Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, Parrish, Ellenton, Palmetto, and throughout the area.

Yes — and Lakewood Ranch is one of our most active recruiting communities. We have athletes from LWR in both the X-Ring Program (USA Archery) and the Upper 12’s Program (ASA 3D). The drive from Lakewood Ranch to our Sarasota facility is typically 20–25 minutes via I-75 south or SR-70 west. Lakewood Ranch families choose our program for the same reason they chose LWR itself: because the quality is genuinely different. Level 3 NTS coaching, two state-level competitive programs, and 501(c)(3) nonprofit pricing is a combination that doesn’t exist at any program closer to home.

Archery builds a specific mental and physical skill set that almost no other sport develops: disciplined breath control, shot process under pressure, acute proprioceptive awareness, and the ability to perform a technically complex movement consistently when a score is attached. These skills transfer. Athletes from high-pressure sports — soccer, baseball, basketball, competitive swimming — often find that archery’s mental training accelerates their performance in their primary sport. In a market where many athletes already train at a high level, archery is the discipline that adds something different. Our Monday/Thursday 5–8 PM schedule is specifically designed to complement, not conflict with, other competitive commitments.

The tryout process is the same regardless of where an athlete lives. We hold open tryout sessions periodically throughout the year. Our coaches evaluate fundamental form potential, coachability, attitude, and competitive intent — prior archery experience is helpful but not required. Athletes selected for the team commit to Monday and Thursday practice sessions (5:00–8:00 PM) at our Sarasota facility. Contact us at sarasotaarcheryinc@gmail.com or visit the Join page to learn when the next tryout is scheduled. We welcome athletes from across Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, and all of Manatee County.

Yes. We actively recruit athletes from Parrish, Ellenton, Palmetto, and throughout northern and eastern Manatee County. Drive times from these communities to our Sarasota facility vary — Parrish and Ellenton athletes are typically 30–40 minutes away, Palmetto is slightly closer. For the right program and the right athlete, that commute is entirely manageable. We have athletes who drive comparable distances from other parts of our service area. If you are in these communities and interested in competitive archery, reach out — we want to hear about your athlete.
