X-Ring Program — USA Archery

USA Archery indoor and outdoor target archery, coached through the National Training System (NTS) — the same technical framework used to develop USA Archery’s national and Olympic teams. The indoor season runs November–February at 18 meters on 3-spot target faces. The outdoor season uses the 720-round format at distances that increase with age division. Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch athletes in the X-Ring program train year-round and compete in Florida state indoor and outdoor championships. $200/month.

Upper 12’s Program — ASA 3D

ASA 3D archery — outdoor courses, foam animal targets, unmarked distances, field judgment under competitive pressure. Athletes compete in the Florida ASA circuit, targeting the Florida ASA State Championship in Palatka and accumulating Shooter of the Year rankings across the qualifier season. The drive from Lakewood Ranch to our Sarasota facility is typically 20–25 minutes via I-75 south or SR-70 west. Lakewood Ranch families choose our program for the same reason they chose LWR itself: because the quality is genuinely different. Level 3 NTS coaching, two state-level competitive programs, and 501(c)(3) nonprofit pricing is a combination that doesn’t exist at any program closer to home.

Archery builds a specific mental and physical skill set that almost no other sport develops: disciplined breath control, shot process under pressure, acute proprioceptive awareness, and the ability to perform a technically complex movement consistently when a score is attached. These skills transfer. Athletes from high-pressure sports — soccer, baseball, basketball, competitive swimming — often find that archery’s mental training accelerates their performance in their primary sport. In a market where many athletes already train at a high level, archery is the discipline that adds something different. Our Monday/Thursday 5–8 PM schedule is specifically designed to complement, not conflict with, other competitive commitments.

The tryout process is the same regardless of where an athlete lives. We hold open tryout sessions periodically throughout the year. Our coaches evaluate fundamental form potential, coachability, attitude, and competitive intent — prior archery experience is helpful but not required. Athletes selected for the team commit to Monday and Thursday practice sessions (5:00–8:00 PM) at our Sarasota facility. Yes. We actively recruit athletes from Parrish, Ellenton, Palmetto, and throughout northern and eastern Manatee County. Drive times from these communities to our Sarasota facility vary — Parrish and Ellenton athletes are typically 30–40 minutes away, Palmetto is slightly closer. For the right program and the right athlete, that commute is entirely manageable. We have athletes who drive comparable distances from other parts of our service area.
